CURRENT NEWS
Los Angeles, CA, August 21, 2008 - Following the success of her third studio album, The Best Damn Thing, and her North American tour, RCA artist Avril Lavigne will release "The Best Damn Tour" Live DVD on September 9th, 2008. Recorded at her sold out April 7, 2008 concert at the Air Canada Center in Toronto, and directed by Wayne Isham (Avril Lavigne, Simple Plan, Sheryl Crow), the DVD will feature live performances of hits such as "Girlfriend," When You're Gone," "Complicated" and "Sk8er Boi."
The Best Damn Thing, released in April 2007, is already certified platinum in the U.S. and has sold over 5 million copies worldwide. Produced by Butch Walker (The Donnas, American Hi-Fi, Lavigne's second album Under My Skin), Dr. Luke (Pink, Lady Sovereign), Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance) and her husband Deryck Whibley of Sum 41, The Best Damn Thing was made with fun in mind. This is evident from the first single, "Girlfriend," which reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 200 and was named the #1 digital download of 2007 by the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry), with over 7.3 million copies sold in 8 languages. Now fans can watch the high-spirited energy of the record come to life on the live DVD.
Having sold over 30 million albums worldwide, Avril Lavigne is quickly paving her own path to rock 'n' roll royalty. She burst onto the music scene in 2002 with the critically acclaimed Let Go, which featured the smash singles "Sk8r Boi" and "Complicated." Let Go earned Lavigne eight Grammy nominations and has sold more than 16 million copies worldwide. Her 2004 sophomore effort, Under My Skin, debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts, as did her much anticipated third album, The Best Damn Thing. Lavigne is also making a name for herself in the acting world, with a recent role in the Richard Linklater-directed Fast Food Nation and voice work in the animated Over the Hedge. Lavigne recently launched her clothing line, Abbey Dawn, which is available exclusively at Kohl's stores nationwide and will be launching her fragrance with Proctor and Gamble in 2009.

He will reprise the role of 'Sir Robin ' at the Shubert Theatre from September 19 2008 - January 4 2009.
When he made his Broadway debut in SPAMALOT at the beginning of this year, Newsday said "Aiken is a charmer" and the Associated Press said that "Clay Aiken deftly handles supremely silly."
Clay Aiken became a music superstar following his success on the "American Idol" television series, and has sold more than six million albums; co-authored a best-selling book; and, played six sold-out concert tours, said "Since leaving SPAMALOT in May, jokes have just not been funny. Food has lost its taste. The grass is no longer green -- the sky no longer blue. And, babies WON'T stop crying!! I'm so excited about coming back to the funniest show in the world!"
This spring, Aiken released his fourth album, On My Way Here, his first album of original songs since his 2003 chart topping, double platinum debut Measure of a Man. On My Way Here's debut in Billboard Magazine's Top 5 continued his streak of all four of his albums having debuted in the Top 5.
Directed by Mike Nichols, who won his eighth Tony Award for his direction of the new musical, Monty Python's SPAMALOT has a book by Eric Idle, "lovingly ripped-off" from the screenplay of the Pythons' best- loved film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. DAUGHTRY ACHIEVES GLOBAL SUCCESS, EXPANDS DEBUT WITH BONUS MUSIC AND VIDEOS
GRAMMY-NOMINATED ARTISTS SUPPORT A NUMBER OF CHARITIES WITH NEW VIDEO FOR "WHAT ABOUT NOW"
BAND PROMOTES ONE ORGANIZATION AT BOTH POLITICAL CONVENTIONS
(New York, NY) To celebrate the global success of the record-breaking debut from 19/RCA recording artist DAUGHTRY, the Grammy-nominated group announces it will release a deluxe version of the band's debut September 9. A hit on more than four continents, the self-titled album has already earned platinum status in the U.S.(4x) and Canada (2x) plus gold certification in Singapore, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, to name a few.
Powered by a trio of #1 songs, "It's Not Over," "Home," and "Feels Like Tonight." DAUGHTRY has become the biggest selling artist release of the past two years and the fastest selling rock debut in Soundscan history. The expanded CD/DVD version of the group's self-titled debut features the album's original 12 songs along with four bonus tracks on CD-including acoustic performances of "Home," recorded in the studio, and "What About Now," recorded earlier this year on Idol Gives Back. Making its debut on this collection is DAUGHTRY's cover of the Foreigner classic, "Feels Like The First Time."
The bonus DVD contains videos for all five of the singles from DAUGHTRY, live performances and exclusive interviews with the band as they tell stories about the DAUGHTRY'S meteoric rise. Just like the album, the accompanying booklet has been expanded as well with photos from the road.
The album's runaway success has propelled DAUGHTRY into rarified company as one of the few bands to score a trio of #1 songs from its debut. DAUGHTRY is also the first group to land 4 Top 5 Hits (from a debut effort) on the Adult Top 40 radio chart since the format was created in 1996.
While DAUGHTRY gives back to its fans with the deluxe version of its debut, the band gives back to charity with a new video for its latest single "What About Now." An active supporter of charity organizations from the start, the band will donate proceeds from the video to the following groups: Action Sports Environmental Coalition; Amnesty International; Charity: Water; Doctors Without Borders; Homeboy Industries; Insight Prison Project; Keep a Child Alive; Love, Light and Melody; Room to Read; Seacology; Surfaid International; and Urban Compass.
DAUGHTRY will join both national political conventions this year to promote the ONE Campaign (ONE.org). ONE is a nonpartisan group dedicated to raising awareness about the issues of global poverty, hunger and disease while supporting efforts to fight such problems in the world's poorest countries. An active supporter of ONE, DAUGHTRY will take part in a full schedule of activities during the Democratic (Denver, August 25-28) and Republican (Minneapolis, September 1-4) conventions. The band's participation will spotlight One and its mission while focusing attention on the opportunities the next president and Congress will have to make a major difference in the fight against global poverty, hunger and disease.

AMERICAN IDOL WINNER DAVID COOK TEAMS WITH GRAMMY WINNING PRODUCER ROB CAVALLO
(New York, NY) American Idol winner David Cook has teamed up with Grammy winning producer Rob Cavallo on his debut album for 19 Recordings/RCA Records, due out this fall.
Cavallo, best known for his work with the legendary pop-punk band Green Day, has also produced records for superstar artists such as Kid Rock, Eric Clapton, My Chemical Romance, Goo Goo Dolls, and is working with the Dave Matthews Band on an upcoming release.
Cook has been busy in the studio when not on the road with the American Idols Live tour, co-writing many of the upcoming album tracks alongside some of music's hottest rock songwriters.
Earlier this summer Cook set the record for the most new entries by an artist in the 50-year history of the Hot 100, with 11 songs entering the chart dated June 7, 2008. That broke the record of six new entries in one week. Cook's 11 songs were led by "The Time of My Life," which debuted at No. 3, making it the highest new entry of 2008. "The Time of My Life" debuted at No 1 on two other charts, the Hot Digital Songs and the Hot Digital Tracks.
25 year old David Cook hails from Blue Springs, Missouri.
Gifted Trio of Ordained Clergymen Won't Give Up Their Day Jobs In Catholic Parishes of Ireland
Debut Album, Produced by Mike Hedges, Is Coming
November 18th On RCA Victor
(NEW YORK) - A vocal trio of three Roman Catholic priests from Ireland is on the brink of creating an international musical sensation as The Priests.
In an April ceremony on the steps of London's historic Westminster Cathedral, the group - comprised of two brothers, Father Eugene O' Hagan and Father Martin O' Hagan, and Father David Delargy - was signed by Sony BMG (UK). Their Priests' debut album is set for US release on RCA Victor Records on November 18, 2008.
The Priests commenced recording May 23 in Dublin and will continue in Belfast and The Vatican in Rome. Their album will include performances in Latin, Spanish, German, Italian, and English of such enduring classics of faith as "Ave Maria," "Panis Angelicus," "Abide With Me," and "O Holy Night." The Priests are working with legendary producer Mike Hedges, well known for his work with U2, The Cure, and - in a foreshadowing of his current assignment - the Manic Street Preachers. The Priests will be accompanied by the Vatican Choir on the recording, arranged and conducted by Pablo Colino the Emeritus Director of Music at St.Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, Rome. A major television special is in the works, as well as an international launch event scheduled for September at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Northern Ireland.
The extraordinary combined talents of Father Eugene O' Hagan (48), his brother, Father Martin O' Hagan (45), and Father David Delargy (44) first were recognized while they attended Queen's University in Belfast and while training for the priesthood at the Irish College in Rome. During the latter period, the three singers were invited personally by the Papal Master of Ceremonies, Monsignor Magee, to sing for the Pope in the sacred liturgy.
Upon their return to Ireland, each of the Priests will continue to tend to the spiritual needs of his parishioners and to the official duties of his church. The Priests' global recording contract exempts each member from undertaking any promotional or recording duties in the event, for instance, of officiating at a wedding or christening of a parishioner. Additionally, the trio has stipulated that a percentage of the proceeds from their record sales will be donated to a charity of their choice.
"We have been inundated with good wishes from our brother priests, from parishioners, and from many friends in the music world," reports Father Eugene O' Hagan in a blog entry at www.thepriests.com.
"It was our intention to make a record for posterity...but imagine what we felt like when Sony BMG popped up out of nowhere and expressed an interest. Fantastic-unbelievable!"
